Junk food comprises food products that consist less or no nutritional value and if eaten regularly may affect one's heath badly. As junk food tastes really good, it's hard to ignore them. These ready-to-eat food products contain higher amounts of fats that lead to obesity and many other health conditions. Most of the junk food products contain little or no vegetables, fruits, or fiber. Some common junk food to be named loved by today's youth are burgers, pizzas, hot dogs, etc. These food products have become almost the regular diet of some due to the ease of availability. No doubt, these food products initiate our taste buds, but they also present some major health problems. Few of them are listed below:
           
Reduced concentration:
As junk food does not contain any nutritious elements needed by the brain cells for their proper functioning, regular intake results in reduced concentration. Junk food is rich in fats, carbohydrates, and cholesterol, and it does not meet the protein and other essential nutrient requirement of our body. Regular intake of junk food may lead to inactivity of the brain cells that ultimately affects the overall performance of the brain.

Lack of energy: Junk food lacks some essential nutrients and are rich in calories that does not provide the required energy to the body. One may feel less physically fit after some time if he or she regularly consumes junk food.

Liver damage and related diseases:
Liver plays a vital role in metabolism and regulating the digestion process but increased level of fat, cholesterol, and salts, may affect its working or even leads to damage. Liver and related diseases are quite evident in people who eat more junk food as compared to those who rarely eat them.

Heart Diseases: As junk food contains a higher amount of cholesterol and other harmful salts, it interferes with the pumping action of the heart. Fats and cholesterol form a layer of plaque on the arteries that increases the pressure that heart exerts while pumping blood. Junk food is the major cause of many heart diseases, and it may even lead to strokes.

Obesity: Junk food lovers often suffer from weight problems as these foods contain higher amounts of carbohydrates and fats.

Diabetes: Junk food puts you on an increased risk of insulin that may damage the pancreas leading to diabetes mellitus.                 
 
These are some of major health issues that one may encounter if he or she rely heavily on junk food.
