Work takes up much of your waking and activity time. You are at a loss as to how you can fit in exercise in some form or the other. Here are a few practical suggestions that can see you through your day with some kind of activity thrown in " not a replacement for actual exercise of course, but at least something is better than nothing!
What you can do in office
- When you are brainstorming with a colleague, walk around instead of sitting at your desk
- Attend to your telephone calls standing
- Walk to your colleague`s room instead of using the intercom
- Use the stairs as much as possible instead of taking the elevator. If you are on the higher floors, stop a few floors ahead and walk the rest of the way
- Don`t rush to the nearest available seat when you are waiting for your plane`s take off announcement. Walk around and get some exercise
- If you are on a business trip, see to I that you are booked into hotels with gym facilities and swimming pools and use them in your free time

- Try to carry some small exercise equipment with you when you travel. It could even be just a skipping rope that you could use in your room
- Become a member of the recreation center in your office. All companies encourage physical fitness these days and give importance to recreation facilities on campus
- Join the company sports team if you are interested in any sport or try to form your own team with like minded people. Your team can help raise funds for charity by organizing games
- If your office has no such provision, take some time to join a nearby gym hat you can walk to whenever you have free time
- If you are a believer in scheduling your daily activities, be sure to include exercise time into your busy schedule. It is up to you to make time for your fitness and good health and treat it as you would any important appointment
- Take the public transport to work and walk for at least a bit of the distance
- Take a brisk walk around your campus whenever time permits
