Providing Opportunities to Children in the Global Arena
Armed with a MA in English Literature and a flair for Languages and with a very busy work schedule, I was married off by my parents to an Officer. Marriage was an entirely new life for me. I gave up my job and involved myself in the ups and downs of running a good home, multitasking, playing the role of a wife, daughter, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, co-sister and of course the most busiest of them all was yet to come: a MOTHER.
I was blessed with 2 wonderful kids and life was soon fuller than it was, if that was even possible. I realized that raising children in today's world was the toughest challenge that a mother could come by. Yet, I believe that I was able to do it with some success. Apart from raising my kids with good morals and values, which I strongly believe in. Both my kids have represented the country; one in the field of Science and the other in the field of Art.
My son was a Child Ambassador for UNESCO at the age of eight, and part of a real Space Mission Exercise at National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA) at 12 and a Global Young Leader at 16.
My daughter not wanting to be left behind blazed a trail for herself as well; with more than 30 international awards and prizes and with her artwork being published by UNESCO, UNICEF, UNISDR, UNEP and many many more.
During the course of my achievements, I had many mothers, and some fathers come up to me and tell me about their children, who I discovered to be extremely talented, but hadn't the chance to explore their talents due to a perceived lack of opportunity.
I thought to myself that others could benefit from my guidance as well. Having helped my kids and at times their friends with their projects and competitions at the National and International level, I decided to help other parents with information and guidance of entering, making a prize winning Project, attending international festivals and competitions and exhibitions even applying for awards and also making a prizewinning CV in the field of Art and Science etc. Although it’s a known fact that the Google has made the world flat, not many parents are net savvy or have that much time to invest on the internet and hence my knowledge of the Internet has paved way for many parents to take part in many International events and become more conscious of the competitive world.
Soon after, since many parents benefitted from my advice, I thought to myself that I should benefit from it as well. After all, me and my children had and were helping various charities and causes and their activities were placing a strain on our resources. Thereafter, I started consultancy purely for children, not only in the academic arena but also in the extracurricular arena to make them achievers at the National and International level and my clientele is slowly growing. More than anything else the venture could have brought with it, it gave me immense satisfaction, and I couldn't have been more glad to start it.
