Personal interviews are extremely important on the part of a business firm since it enables top-level management to judge the overall personality of a candidate when interviewed face to face. This is essential because after judging the qualities and characteristics of the candidate, the top management can decide whether the person is too open or diplomatic or is equally balanced. Based on the demand of the situation regarding the kind of employee to be recruited, the management can take the necessary recruitment decision. Similarly, to get the desired job, this type of interview is also important from the perspective of an individual candidate. If the candidate can handle the series of questions tactfully from the interviewers and is able to make an impressive presentation of his or her overall personality in the interview room, then the candidate can possibly hit the jackpot and get the job.
But it is not a very easy job for a candidate to crack an interview, especially when he or she is facing at least four to five members from the recruitment panel. Under such circumstances, the candidate needs to be very calm and should gather all his self- confidence to keep himself going. The interviewers would definitely test the individual candidate from all possible corners by throwing a series of complicated questions. But at this particular situation, the candidate should not panic. The main difficulty with the critical questions is that they may sound very simple but are equally difficult to be organized into an answer. The questions may include a brief and precise description of the candidate, the reason for opting for a job in the specified company, the cause of leaving the previous job (if the candidate was previously employed) or if it is the very first interview of the candidate, a question may be thrown as to what he had been doing till the date of the interview. He or she should listen to the questions very minutely and try to figure out the required answers. If a specific question is quite tough for the candidate to answer or is beyond his sphere of knowledge, he should simply not reply to the situation. He or she should still try to make a confident response within his or her stipulated limit to give an impression that he or she does not get nervous on the face of a complicated situation. This would surely impress the interviewers and would definitely create a mark in their mind.
Another important fact that is to be kept in mind by the candidate at the interview hall is that he or she should always bore a smile on his or her face in order to make a jovial presentation which always creates a good impression in the mind of the interviewers. It is also a general rule to get into the interview hall in complete formal dress instead of the latest western outfit. Moreover, instead of the latest designer sneakers, the candidate should be in formal boots.
If the above mentioned points are kept in mind by the candidate, then he or she has a great possibility of cracking the interview round.
