Rudolf Erdel has been widely recognized as one most innovative bridal designers in US. In the year 1994, Rudolf Erdel came up with his revolutionary jewelry collection as he launched his platinum collections in the U.S. Since then Americans have cherished platinum jewelry more than they gold. He loved platinum so much that it was the part of his trademark. Rudolf Erdel uses platinum because of its fine texture and purity. He says that his main motive is to make people fall in love with his timeless creation in platinum.

The jewelry by Rudolf Erdel is known for its unique design, exquisite hand crafted and superior quality. Most of his platinum jewelry are innovatively designed and elegantly designed. Most of his creations are eminently wearable. He was born in Muenster, Germany. The best part is that he came from the family of jewelers as they had been in jewelry business in Europe since the year 1906. In the year 1992, well before the metal jewelry grew popularity in the U.S.,Rudolf had already decided to create his collection in platinum. His passion for the white meta lead him to the understanding of the potential and beauty of platinum.

There were several U.S. designers who were using platinum, but Rudolf was the first one to design exclusive platinum jewelry. He wanted platinum to be the main element in every piece he designed. He used other materials like gold,diamonds,precious and semi-precious stones to enhance the beauty of the platinum. He believed in the philosophy that he wanted to create a jewelry which is modern yet classic and timeless as the platinum itself.

In the year 1994, Rudolf unveiled the Quantum Leap Collection. This became the signature look of Rudolf Erdel platinum creation which was the 18-Karat gold dots and lovely set of diamonds. During the year 1995 and 1998 Rudolf designed seven other beautiful collections which gave him a recognition from retail companies, press and consumers. Then he became one of the most promising and innovative young jewelry designers in the United States.

But destiny had some other plans,a week later after his worldwide launch of his new platinum jewelry collection, designer Rudolf Erdel died in a kayaking accident. A memorial service was offered for him in New York, then he was buried in his native place Germany.

His death was the great loss for the jewelry designers in the world. His innovative styles in designing and love of platinum, helped him to emerge as a pioneer platinum designer in the whole world. He worked hard with the Platinum Guild International and brought the white metal to the forefront among the bridal jewelry collection.
