One of the truly awaited films of the year is Drona. It is a fantasy action film which stars Abhishek Bachchan and the ravishing Priyanka Chopra, the former Miss World 2002. The upcoming Bollywood flick was slated to be released at around December 2007. As one of the most awaited of upcoming Bollywood releases Drona has been special effects masterpiece which is a compelling tale of one man's fantasy which revolves around the protagonist played by Abhishek Bachchan. It is Kay Kay Menon who films in some action sequences in the picturesque locations of Sambhar Lake in Rajasthan. The forthcoming Bollywood films in the pipelines are in the league of mystic, myths and legendary legacies that the film Drona explores. The good and evil clash in this contemporary fantasy fable is a breathtaking journey of scientific excellence. There is enough room for the fantasy lovers to explore the journey of mythic heroes and malicious magicians and their beguiling curses and absolute innocence.
The main lead that is played by Abhishek Bachchan is one which deftly portrays the world where spells and magic can upturn live flesh into cold stone. The cast and crew of Drona is also said to have performed stunning stunts for the entire film.
The film also explores a world where mirages aer all too common and thrills are the name of the game. The world which is portrayed in the film is one which is of audacious adventures and has a riot of colors with fantastical folklores. Drona is a modern sci-fi flick which narrates a twenty first century tale that traverses all continents but is profoundly Indian and is very commercial to its core. The fight sequences in the film are worth a see and there are award winning action sequences that have been shot by the renowned action director Tom Delmar. Delmar is popular for his trademark style of action for Guy Ritchie films in Hollywood.
Abhishek Bachchan is also said to have performed breathtaking action sequences for the film and special emphasis has been accorded to martial arts like Kalaripayat and Chhau which are featured in the film. There has been special emphasis on the Sikh martial arts of Gatka as well. The Eros controlled Eyeqube studios are roping in around 250 visual effects artistes for the film. The post production effects have been carried on by the VFX studio where Charles Darby is said to have a small stake and many Hollywood animators and designers matte painters and developers have signed on the dotted line to be part of this project. The film also stars the likes of Jaya Bachchan and has been extensively shot in the exotic locales of Czech Republic and Namibia in Africa in addition to many parts of North India and Rajasthan. The music for Drona has been done by debutant music duo Dhruv-Ashu. The Austrian musical genius of Bauchklang has been roped in to record one of the sound tracks of the film.
