Suresh Wadkar is one of the popular singers in Bollywood. Presently, Suresh Wadkar is acting as a judge in a famous music show -Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs.

Suresh Wadkar's Early Life

Suresh Wadkar was born and brought up in Kolhapur in India. He received his training in classical music from Pandit Jialal Vasant from the tender age of ten years. He is a disciple of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Suresh Wadkar's Singing Career

In 1976 Suresh Wadkar participated in the Sur Singur competition which was presided by one of the renowned Indian film composers, Jaidev. He launched his career as a playback singer in the movie ' Gaman' with the lovely song- 'Seene Mein Jalan'. The movie was released in the year 1978. It was Jaidev who gave Suresh Wadkar the break in this movie. He also sang for the film Paheli.

Lata Mangeskar highly praised Suresh Wadkar's singing style and recommended him to many renowned music directors like Kalyanji- Anandji, Laxmikant Pyarelal and Khayyam. Music directors Laxmikant Pyarelal gave him the opportunity to sing a duet with Lata Mangeskar for the movie' Krodh' which was released in the year 1981. The song ' Chal Chameli Bagh Mein' became very popular. Later, he sang songs for the movie ' Hum Paanch', Raj Kapoor's Prem Rog and Pyassa Sawan.

Besides singing in Hindi movies, he sang for Marathi movies. The four songs he sang for Prem Rog were picturised on Rishi Kapoor. In 1982 his song ' Hathon Ki Chand Lakeeron Ka' from the movie ' Vidhata' became a massive hit. Suresh Wadkar sang for other music directors like-R.D.Burman, Ravindra Jain, Ilayaraja, Usha Khanna, Vishal Bharadwaj, A.R. Rehman, Bappi Lahiri and Jatin Lalit. He was associated with big banner movies like Yash Chopra, Subhas Ghai, G.P.Sippy and Manmohan Desai.
