Shibani Kashyap is a popular female singer who has been able to reap great success at the Bollywood film industry. Shibani Kashyap has several popular songs to her credit which are innovative and breaks new ground in the traditional song making scenario. A subtle understanding of what her audience wants, coupled with vivid imagination and glamour not only in her voice but her total personality has brought Shibani Kashyap to the pedestals of Bollywood fame.
Shibani Kashyap has a number of hit songs in her kitty among which mention must be made of "Sajna Aaa Bhi Ja". She has also anchored in a singer hunt talent contest called the "Bathroom Singer". Coming from Delhi, Shibani Kashyap made a name for herself by singing the signature tune of AIR FM channel at the All India Radio as well as Amul India. Essentially she is comfortable with composing a combination of Sufi and western trends of music. Apart from this, Shibani Kashyap will hone her acting skills in "Main Osama", which is a film directed by Faisal Saif. This is the first venture where she displays both her acting as well as singing skills.
Shibani Kashyap is a great fan of Sting and is known as one of the close friends of fellow composer-singer Rabbi. Shibani Kashyap has also released her latest album called "Nazakat" which according to her "is a celebration of beauty and sensuality" and this album has rocked the charts. She has also been an inspiration to the young generation. Differentiating herself from the recent trend of remixes, she critiques this whole idea of old songs in new packages and says she likes experimenting with newer sounds. Her previous album, "Nagmagee" was a Sufi-Rock album. She had also composed for a mainstream album which was not however released in India named "Everything but the Girl".
Facts about Shibani Kashyap inform that she started singing quite early from her school days. Most of her time in college was spent in the recording studio for recording jingles. She had also lent her voice to the band called "Black Slade" where she had been the lead singer. Some of her renowned jingles are the AIR jingle, the jingle for the Subah Savere and that of the Amul India show. Her first album named "Ho Gayi Hai Mohabbat" won her a music award. Some of the famous personalities that have inspired Shibani Kashyap are Seal, Alanis Morissette and Sheryl Crow who have been her favorites since according to her these are the people who sing on the basis of what they feel.
