Mohammed Aziz took 15 long years to make a name for himself in Bollywood through his enormous singing potential. However the journey has proved extremely satisfying for him as he has been able to prove his talent and pursue his divine calling. Coming from a god fearing and pious family where singing was extremely disapproved he has not only been able to break the shackles by taking to singing as a profession but climbed the pinnacles of success. Mohammed Aziz had drawn a lot of inspiration from the stage singers of Kolkata of his day and later went on to incorporate these in his career.

One of the popular Bollywood singers, Mohammed Aziz was in love with singing from an early age. He had dropped out of college after his FYB Com to become a live performer singing in hotels and bars, besides Id gatherings. Ultimately he moved to Mumbai to pursue his dream to make it big in Bollywood which drives several other Indians to the same city. Mohammed Aziz had also drawn inspiration from the songs of Mohammed Rafi besides which he performed for a brief while under Ustad Ameer Ahmed Khan who was an exponent of the Kirana gharana. For him, each of the songs of Mohammed Rafi was a chapter in the history of film songs.

In 1976, as one of the top singers in Bollywood Mohammed Aziz compiled an orchestra at the Film Stars Nite with the help of Salil Chowdhury who was not then completely convinced about Aziz's talents. This was held in the Netaji Indoor Stadium where he sang some famous compositions like 'Mere paeron me ghunghroo' ('Sunghursh') and 'Ham kaale hain to' ('Gumnaam') gaining a huge round of applause. He sang the all-time masterpiece of Naushad "too Ganga kee mauj" before him in Gaya, Bihar.

He had arrived in Mumbai in 1982 with very limited contacts. With the sole power of his ambition which he used to meet the number of music directors and film makers of that time he gained a platform for himself after years of struggle. It was Mukul Dutt, one of the renowned songwriters and director of Hindi as well as Bengali films who introduced him to the composers Swapan-Jagmohan. They were impressed by his profound talent and gave him the opportunity for recording of "Amber"- Kab tak doolhe. Facts about Mohammed Aziz also reveal that some of the other films that he has sung for are Tu Mujhe Kabool from Khuda Gawah, "Ek Raja Hai Ek Rani Hai" , "Hum Khush Hue" and Aur Kya Zindagaani in Ek Rishta.
