Kunal Ganjawala came to fame by emerging a winner on the television show 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa'. But success came quite a bit late for Kunal Ganjawala. However before becoming a singer Kunal Ganjawala did plan to become an actor and after finishing his school he went to Elphinston College and after the classes used to get over he used to go to an acting school. He started singing by chance when his seniors in the acting school heard him whistling and asked him to sing. He had to sing 'Ek Din Bik Jayega' sang by Mukesh in the film "Dharam Karam".

His first jingle was for the 'Doodh Doodh Doodh' composed by Leslie Lewis. Kunal Ganjawala shot to fame with his album 'Channa Vey' which was released by Universal. The first film song that made him popular is the song 'Bheege Hote Tere' from the film "Murder". This song won him lots of awards and from that time there was no looking back for the singer Kunal Ganjawala. The most important award that was won by him for the song 'Bheege Hote Tere' is the Zee Cine Award for Best Male Playback Singer in the year 2005.



The best achievement for Kunal Ganjawala came when he got the opportunity to sing for Shah Rukh Khan in the film "Kaal". The title song made this singer with an unusual vocal quality a popular name among the listeners. The list of the films in which he sang includes Saathiya, Mumbai Matinee, Khakee, Dhoom, Run, Lakeer, Rudraksh and Sawariya. The film in which Kunal Ganjawala first sang the song composed by A. R. Rahman was 'Lakeer'. Other music directors for whom he sang the songs include Ranjit Barot, Shankar Loy Ehsaan, Himesh Reshammiya, Anu Malik and a lot more.

Other than singing for the Bollywood films Kunal Ganjawala has also cut many private albums too. These albums include 'Ek Cutting Chai', 'Jalwa III', 'Absolute Mix' and 'Honey Honey'.

The songs of Kunal Ganjawala have earned him lots of accolades. He won the Filmfare Awards for Best Male Playback Singer for his song in the film 'Murder'. Before that he won the R.D. Burman Award in the year 2003. The film 'Murder' also got him the IIFA Award for Best Male Playback Singer in the year 2004. In the same year he also got the Apsara Award for his sensual songs in the film 'Murder'.
