Kishore Kumar is regarded as one of the evergreen singers ever seen in the Bollywood. Because of his artful expressive singing talent and superb melodious voice, Kishore Kumar is widely reckoned as one of the unrivalled Popular Singers in Bollywood. An insight into the early life of Kishore Kumar reveals that Kishore Kumar was born as Aabhas Kumar Ganguli, in a Bengali family in the Khandwa town of Madhya Pradesh. His father Kunjalal Ganguli was an advocate, and his mother Gouri Devi had a profound influence on him.

Abhas Kumar was the youngest of all thesiblings, the other three being Ashok Kumar, Sati Devi, and Anoop Kumar. While Kishore Kumar was still a child, Ashok Kumar became a popular Bollywood actor. Later, Anoop Kumar also made foray into Indian cinema with the aid and assistance of Ashok Kumar. His two brothers had a profound influence on the budding Singer Kishore Kumar who developed a keen interest on movies and songs. After Abhas Kumar changed his name to Kishore Kumar and started his cinema career as a chorus singer at Bombay Talkies, he got his first break as an actor in the film Shikari in 1946, in which Ashok Kumar played the lead role. Later music director Khemchand Prakash gave him the chance to sing the song for the film Ziddi in 1948 which evebtually marked his singing career. After some initial flops, Kishore Kumar achieved success as a comic hero with movies like New Delhi (1956), Aasha (1957), Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi (1958), Jhumroo (1961), Half Ticket (1962), and Padosan (1968). It was music director S. D. Burman who spotted Kishore Kumar`s talent as a singer though in the following years his collaboration with R D Barman led to the creation of chart buster songs which are still popular.
