Later music director Khemchand Prakash gave him the chance to sing the song for the film Ziddi in 1948 which evebtually marked his singing career. After some initial flops, Kishore Kumar
achieved success as a comic hero with movies like New Delhi (1956), Aasha (1957), Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi (1958), Jhumroo (1961), Half Ticket (1962), and Padosan (1968). It was music director S. D. Burman who spotted Kishore Kumar`s talent as a singer though in the following years his collaboration with R D Barman led to the creation of chart buster songs which are still popular.
