One of the popular singers in Bollywood is Gayatri Iyer. This well known Bollywood playback singer is not only blessed with talent but also beauty. She has also acted in The Far Pavilions of M. M. Kaye's West End of London musical production as Princess Anjuli. Gayatri Iyer has married another popular Indian playback singer, Kunal Ganjawala.

Gayatri Iyer has graduated from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow. She didn't opt for a corporate career and instead opted for a leading playback career in Bollywood. She has also sung in a number of songs for the movie 'Bride and Prejudice' in which the famous actress Aishwarya Rai has acted. She has sung five songs in Anu Malik's music in both the Hindi and English versions of the movie.



Ranjit Barot is considered Gayatri Iyer's philosopher, friend and guide. During her MBA days she decided to become a full-time singer which was her hobby. She first sang in the Alyque Padamsee play Final Solution. While doing this she befriended Ram 'Khakee' Sampath. He used in his albums her backing vocals and also through him she met music director Anand-Milind.

Gayatri Iyer sang in a number of Anand-Milind films like Insaaf, Loafer and Muqadar from the mid- to late '90's. During a recording for Indian she met Shankar Mahadevan and started off her career by singing jingles. Gayatri Iyer became very popular with her songs in Dhoom, Bhoot and Rudraksh. Other well known movies in which she sang were Sandhya, Kisna, Naach, Page 3 and Elaan.

When Gayatri Iyer was five years old she started learning Carnatic music. In college she started learning Hindustani music. She is a student of Babanrao Haldankar, the Hindustani music guru. Some of the movies in which Gayatri Iyer has sung are -
