Sachin Bhowmick is one of the eminent Bollywood screenplay writers. He is known to have written the screenplays for more than 70 films. Sachin Bhowmick has worked with many hotshot producers and directors of Bollywood like J.Om Prakash, Subash Ghai, Rakesh Roshan and Nasir Hussain.
Sachin Bhowmick's Career as a Screenplay Writer in Bollywood
Sachin Bhowmick made his debut as a screenplay writer in Bollywood films in the year 1958 with the movie Lajwanti. The movie was directed by Narendra Suri and produced by Mohan Segal. The cast of Lajwanti included Nargis and Balraj Sahni in the leading roles.
In the 1960s he worked in popular films like Ayee Milan Ki Bela, Jaanwar, Love in Tokyo, An Evening in Paris, Aaye Din Bahar Ke, Bhramachari, Aradhana and Aya Jhoom Ke.
In the 1970s he wrote the screenplays of many films like Aan Milo Sajna, Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin, Caravan and Gol Maal which were successful in the box office like
During the 1980s he was associated with many big banner films like Karz, Bemisal, Do Aur Do Paanch, Nastik, Zamaane Ko Dikhana Hai, Saaheb, Karma and Andar Bahar.
His works during the 1990s included Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Karan Arjun, Yeh Dillagi, Soldier, Koyla, Taal and Aa Ab Laut Chalen.
In 2003 Sachin Bhowmik wrote the screenplay for Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish in 2006. Hritik Roshan starrer Koi Mil Gaya was a runaway success in India as well as in the overseas in 2003. In 2005 he wrote the story of Kisna- The Warrior Poet. His most recent work is the film Black & White which was released on 14th March, 2008.
Sachin Bhowmik- The Director
Till date, Sachin Bhowmik is known to have directed one film- Raja Rani. The film was released in the year 1973. Besides, having directed the film, he also wrote the story for the film. Raja Rani was produced by Jagdish Kumar. The cast of the film included Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore in the leading roles. RD Burman composed the music for this film.

Sachin Bhowmik won the 1968 Filmfare award in the 'Best Story' category for the film Brahmachari. In 1968 he won a Filmfare nomination in the 'Best Story ' category for the film Aradhana and again in 1970 for the film Pehchan.
Sachin Bhowmik has his name etched in the hall of fame of Indian cinema for his poignant works of storytelling.
