Pt. Mukhram Sharma is one of the top ten screenwriters in Bollywood. He has earned many laurels for his beautiful scripts. His stories mainly dealt with social themes. Pt. Pandit Mukhram Sharma was the most famous scriptwriter in Bollywood between 1950 and 1970. He had a long association with the great director and producer B. R. Chopra. Though most of his films were on contemporary social aspects yet you will never get bored to see two or three of his films at a time. Many of the films written by Pandit Mukhram Sharma were huge hits. He received a number of prestigious awards for his skilful writing. He won the Filmfare Best Story writer award for films like Sadhna, Aulad, Ek Hi Raasta, and Dhool Ka Phool. He also received the Sangeet Natak Academy Award in the year 1961.
Pandit Mukhram Sharma was the storywriter for many Hindi films. His story writing career can be divided into two phases-early and later phase. The films of his early phase are Aulad, Vachan, Sadhna, Dhool Ka Phool, Talaaq and Ek Hi Raasta. All these films were released between 1950 and 1960. After some years he returned with a bang with powerful scripts like Dadi Maa (1966), Samadhi (1972) and Humjoli (1970).
Besides being a storywriter he also wrote dialogues for many films. His dialogues were good and powerful enough to touch the hearts of the masses. He was the dialogue writer for films like Ek Hi Raasta (1956), Dhool Ka Phool (1959), Gharana (1961), Raja Aur Runk (1968), Do Kaliyaan (1968) and Jeene Ki Raah (1969).
Pandit Mukhram Sharma also became a famous producer. Though he had produced less number of films yet he earned lot from them since they were huge hits at the Boxoffice. He produced films like Deewana (1967), Miya Bibi Razi (1960) and Talaaq (1958).
