Prayag Raj is one of the most popular Bollywood screenwriters. He has written the script for several films for more than 3 decades. He has written scripts for several Bollywood movies which have done very well at the box office. The films for which Prayag Raj has done the scriptwriting are Zamaanat (released in 2007), Hero Hindustani (released in 1998) and Deewana Mastana (released in 1997). He has written the story and the screenplay for the movie Gurudev (released in 1993). He has also done screenplays for other films like Inspector Dhanush (released in 1991), Amar Akbar Anthony (released in 1977), Dharam Veer (released in 1977) and Parvarish (released in 1977).

Prayag Raj has written the story, screenplay and dialogue for the film Dharam Karam that was released in 1975. He did the story and the screen play for the film Ponga Pandit that also got released in 1975. The screenplay of Roti (released in 1974), Aa Gale Lag Jaa (released in 1973) and Raampur Ka Lakshman (released in 1972) are also done by him. The dialogues and screenplay of the film My Love (released in 1970) has also been written by Prayag Raj. Today, Prayag Raj is one of the finest screenwriters of Bollywood.



Prayag Raj has also written some well known films like Ajooba (released in 1991) and Allah Rakha (released in 1986). The story of films like Qurbani Rang Layegi (released in 1991), Gair Kaanooni (released in 1989), Gangaa Jamunaa Saraswathi (released in 1988), Hifazat (released in 1987), Mard (released in 1985), Geraftaar (released in 1985), Coolie (released in 1983), Desh Premee (released in 1982), Naseeb (released in 1981), Suhaag (released in 1979) and Chacha Bhatija (released in 1977) are penned down by Prayag Raj himself.

The dialogues for movies like Bhai Ho To Aisa (released in 1972), Sachaa Jhutha (released in 1970) and Jhuk Gaya Aasman (released in 1968) have also been written by him.

Prayag Raj is not just one of the well known story, dialogue or screenwriters of Bollywood. He is a multi-talented personality who has worked as an actor, director as well as an assistant director. He has even composed a soundtrack for a film named Coolie.
