Pradeep Sarkar is one of the well known Bollywood screenwriters. Pradeep Sarkar has written scripts for critically acclaimed films like Parineeta and Laaga Chunari Mein Daag. Both these movies earned recognition and fame not only from Bollywood but also from other parts of the world.

The film has one of the most popular actors of Hindi film industry, Rani Mukherjee in the lead role. Laaga Chunari Mein Daag: Journey Of A Woman also had an English title called "My Veil is Stained".
The screen play of both the movies was written by Pradeep Sarkar and has women in the lead role. Both the movies Parineeta and, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag revolve around the life of 2 women, Lolita and Vaibhavari Sahay. Lolita, the character in the movie Parineeta is an economically independent girl who tries to earn for the family and lives happily with her uncle, aunt and cousin sister. The film shows her relationship with a rich man's son, Shekhar and how the bond of love gradually grows between them. The film finally ends on a happy note with Lolita getting married to Shekhar.
Laaga Chunari Mein Daag has a strong screen play and no doubt that Pradeep Sarkar is a proficient story teller. Pradeep Sarkar has managed to bring to light the struggle of a single woman who tries to make a living in this society, with maturity and accuracy.
