Kamleshwar- the screenwriter was born on 6th January, 1932 in Mainpuri region of Uttar Pradesh. From his early days, he showed great interest in films. Kamleshwar has penned down some wonderful screenplays, which are remembered till date. He was also related to television and his first short television film was 'Jamuna Bazar'.

Kamleshwar has bagged a number of prestigious awards because of his sheer talent and hard work. For 'Rang Birangi', a 1983 film, he is remembered till date. He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award in the year 2003 for 'Kitne Pakistan'. He was also awarded Padma Bhushan in the year 2005. Kamleshwar died on of heart attack 27th January, 2007 at New Delhi. With his passing away, the industry lost a precious gem.
