Habib Faisal was a typical lad from Delhi who wanted to enjoy every aspect of life. He was a bright student. After school, Habib was preparing himself for medicine or to go for engineering. But fate had other plans for him. In the first year of collage, Habib Faisal became involved with a theater group.

Habib Faisal's first stint with the world of art came when he started writing stories and dialogs for the plays for the theater group. He not only directed some of the plays but even acted in a couple of them. Eventually, Habib Faisal completed a course in Mass Communication. After his course, Habib Faisal assisted director Pradeep Kishen in a documentary movie which was known as Electric Moon.



But after his stint in the movie making world, Habib Faisal decided to go to US to attain more knowledge and experience in the field. After getting his degree in cinema, Habib Faisal came back to India. He then worked as a cameraman for NDTV for almost 5 years.

When Habib Faisal finally got the chance to meet Shaad Ali with his own penned script, Shaad Ali had already decided on his next film which was Bunty and Babli. So, Habib Faisal then met director Siddharth Anand. At that point of time, Siddharth Anand was working on his Salaam Namaste. There were some similarities between Habib Faisal's story and Siddharth Anand's script. Due to the similarities, Habib Faisal's story was merged into Salaam Namaste's script.

Habib Faisal then wrote the screenplays for 2 more of Yash Raj productions. Habib Faisal wrote the screenplay for both Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and Ta Ra Rum Pum. Ta Ra Rum Pum was shot first and went on to do moderately well at the box office.

Habib Faisal's next screenplay for Jhoom Barabar Jhoom was based on a real life experience of director Shaad Ali. The story of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom was of a boy seeing a girl in an airport and the ensuing story that develops between them. The story for Jhoom Barabar Jhoom was written by Shaad Ali but the dialogs and screenplay for the story was done by Habib Faisal.
