Baldev Raj Chopra is one of the most respected personalities in the Hindi film industry. Popularly known as B.R. Counted among one of the best Bollywood screenwriters, Baldev Raj Chopra has bagged a number of prestigious awards because of his sheer talent and hard work. He received the Filmfare Best director award in the year 1962 for the movie `Kanoon`. He was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Screen in the year 1996. The Bombay International Film Festival honored him with the Lifetime Achievement award in the year 1999. He also bagged the 2004 Lifetime Achievement award by the Filmfare. In 1999, B.R.Chopra was awarded the most prestigious award in the film industry, Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian Cinema.
