Aditya Chopra, the famous Indian film director is also one of the most renowned scriptwriters of Bollywood. He is one of the well-known Bollywood personalities who have won many awards and accolades for his work. Aditya Chopra is recognized as one of the greatest Bollywood Screen writers.
He was born on 21st May, 1971 and is the eldest son of famous Bollywood personality, Yash Chopra. From his childhood he was a movie buff. His viewing of films in the early years helped him in the later years of his life. His brother, Uday Chopra, is a film actor. Aditya married Payal but has recently divorced her.
He was the screen writer of the famous movies like 'Parampara' (1993), 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' (1995) and 'Dil to Pagal Hai' (1997). Apart from these he was the scriptwriters of other movies like:
He is presently working in 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' which is likely to release in the year 2008.
Aditya Chopra started his career as an assistant director in Chandni' (1989), 'Lamhe' (1991) and 'Darr' (1993). After gaining enough experience and encouragement from his father he directed his first film in 1995. He was only 23 years old. It was Shahrukh Khan-Kajol starrer 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge' (1995) which gave him the instant fame. This film gifted Bollywood one of the best pairs of Indian film industry. After this film came 'Dil to Pagal Hai' which did extremely well at the box office. Besides, being the script writer he produced the movie as well.
Aditya Chopra won the Filmfare Award for the best dialogue in this film. He continued to remain as a worthy successor of the Yash Raj Films as he directed 'Mohabbatein' (2000). He also bagged the Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue and Best Story for the film 'Veer-Zaara'.
Apart from screen writing, Aditya Chopra has shown his creative genius as a producer and a director. He produced 'Fanna', 'Kabul Express' and 'Dhoom 2'. All the 3 movies did a good market in India and abroad.
Presently he is the Vice-Chairman of Yash Raj Films. Aditya Chopra's great sense of creativity, hard work and dedication has made him one of the visionary figures of Indian film industry.
