At first he started his production company named "Dreamz Unlimited" in 1999 with Juhi Chawla and director Aziz Mirza. The first two films under his production house were "Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani" in 2000 and "Asoka" in the year 2001. Though both these movies did not fare well in box office, they received many critical acclaims. However, Chalte Chalte in 2003, which starred Shahrukh Khan himself and co-star Rani Mukherjee, was commercially a hit number.
After the failure of Dreamz Unlimited, Shahrukh Khan set up another production company named "Red Chillies Entertainment" in the year 2004. Under this production banner, he produced several hit flicks like Main Hoon Na that carved special position in box office. In the year 2005, he produced and acted in the film Paheli, which failed at the box office. However, it gained as India`s official entry to the Oscars for a nomination for Best Foreign Film. However, it did not come through the final selection. In the same year, he also co-produced the supernatural film Kaal with Karan Johar. Kaal was reasonably successful at the box office. His latest film Om Shanti Om, under his production house, has done very well at the box office.
