Gulshan Kumar was a famous film producer of Bollywood. He produced a series of successful films in the 1980s and 1990s. He was counted among the most successful producers in the Bollywood film industry during this period. However, an untimely death in the year 1997 abruptly ended the successful career of Gulshan Kumar.

Gulshan Kumar is a famous name in the India music industry. He is the founder of the Super Cassette Industries. He later launched a music production company in Noida, situated near Delhi. In the late 1970s he brought out good quality music cassettes that were priced reasonably. Gulshan Kumar is also known for introducing a lot of young talented singers to the world of music. Popular Indian singers like Sonu Nigam, Kumar Sanu, and Anuradha Paudwal were introduced by him.



Gulshan Kumar was assassinated outside the Jeeteshwar Mahadev Mandir, which is situated in the Juhu suburb of Mumbai, India. This fateful incident took place on 12th August 1997. However, even after death, Gulshan Kumar`s name remains associated with many films produced by T-Series.

T-Series is the popular name of the Super Cassette Industries. The largest publisher and producer of music and videos in India, T-Series has now taken up film production and theatrical distribution as well. One of the recent home productions of T-Series is the Hindi film `My Name is Anthony Gonsalves` (2008). It was Gulshan Kumar who made T-Series a multi-product and multi-functional company.
