The film tells about the personal history of renowned Bollywood actress , Parveen Babi. The remarkable film has been directed by talented Mohit Suri. The lead characters in the film have been played by Shiney Ahuja and Kangna Ranaut. The most important aspect of the film is that its story has been wonderfully conceptualized by veteran director and producer Mahesh Bhatt. The music of the film has been scored by Pritam.

The film is an autobiographical approach which depicts the life and tragic death of Parveen Babi. The film may be considered a documentary on the life and relations of the actress who ultimately met her tragic doom after enjoying a life full of adventure and liberty. The central character Sana has been wonderfully played by new arrival Kangana Ranawat.

The film opens with famous actress Sana Azim who is in a hotel room located in the entertainment capital of Mumbai.

As the dusks descend, Sana is shown to slash her wrists in an apparent attempt to kill herself. When film producer Aditya Garewal, a character played by Shiny Ahuja, comes to know about it, he is shocked. Sana has enjoyed emotional association with Aditya but all of a sudden she disappeared mysteriously.

After a gap of 3 years Aditya hears about his beloved but he is devastated to learn about the plight of Sana. She is admitted in a hospital in quite a critical condition. Aditya awaits outside the ICU of the hospital in uncertainty about the recovery of his beloved. As he awaits outside and prays for her life, he sinks into a flashback. Aditya remembers his happy days with Sana when she played the role of his mentor and lover.

At was the period when Aditya was a new arrival in the film industry and he was struggling hard to survive and make footage in the glamor world. Aditya's life with his Sana was like a smooth sailing only to be intervened by an enemy who posed serious threat to him and his love. For the sake of his love Aditya put his career into danger and ran away from the enemy with Sana It was in that period that Sana disappeared one day leaving behind her many unanswered questions.

The film reaches its climax on a very touching note. When Aditya was awaiting outside praying for the well being of his soul mate, the news of her death reaches him. Unable to bear the trauma, he goes on top of the roof and commits suicide.
