Maqbool is one of the finest Bollywood tragic movies. It was released in the year 2004 in India. Maqbool is also one of the Bollywood films directed by Vishal Bharadwaj. Story of Maqbool

Maqbool (Irfan Khan) is an orphan in the movie and the story of Maqbool revolves around this character. He was adopted by Abba Ji (Pankaj Kapoor), a powerful underworld don. As a result, Maqbool is highly grateful to this person called Abba Ji. He works for him as his right hand man. In this film, Nimmi (Tabu) is Abba Ji's mistress but eventually falls for Maqbool. Maqbool loves Nimmi, too and they begin a passionate love affair.

To have a successful love life, Nimmi persuades Maqbool to kill Abbaji and take over as the don. She also insists on inheriting her as mistress and get enough fortune, repute and responsibility for leading the mafia. Thus, Maqbool is torn between his love for Nimmi and his loyalty to Abba ji. In the end, he kills Abbaji and becomes the don. However, the guilt of murder bars both Nimmi and Maqbool to lead a normal life and both of them meet their tragic ends.
