Bollywood movie "Fanaa" is supposed to be one of the landmark films which the Indian film industry can boast of. This Bollywood thriller-romance movie was released in 2006 and proved to be an instant hit. The cast of the film includes the stalwarts of the Hindi cinema Aamir Khan and Kajol. They have played the lead role in the film. "Fanaa" is directed by Kunal Kohli who has previously directed "Hum Tum." The film is produced by Yash Raj Films. The other casts of the film include Rishi Kapoor, Kiron Kher, Shruti Seth and Tabu.
"Fana" was released on 26th May, 2006, in India. The lead character played by Aamir Khan is about a tourist guide. Aamir Khan plays the character in his distinct style which impresses all the viewers. The setting of the film is based in Delhi. Kajol plays the role of a Kashmiri girl. The film is superbly supported by the veteran pair of Rishi Kapoor and Kiron Kher. They play the roles of Kajol's parents. The film is specially marked for staging a comeback for Kajol, who had last appeared in Karan Johar's blochbuster "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham."
The story of the film is based on a novel "Eye Of The Needle". It is written by Ken Follet. The film proceeds with the character of Zooni Ali Beg played by Kajol. She is a blind Kashmiri girl who steps out of her home for the first time without accompanying her parents. During the course of her journey with the dance troupe of which she is part, she happens to meet Rehan Khan, a character played by Aamir Khan. The company of Rehan Khan delights Zooni Ali Beg. For the first time in her life she comes across such a unique experience of falling in love.
Ultimately Zooni and Rehan decide to marry. Getting full consent from Zooni's parents, Rehan Khan proceeds towards the marriage and invited them at his place. Before their marriage, Rehan Khan takes Zooni to an ophthalmologist with a hope to get her blindness cured. The doctor tells Zooni that her blindness can be cured after an operation. He also warns that the operation involves risk.
Zooni and Rehan decide to take the risk and agree for the operation. After her eyes being operated Zooni asks Rehan to call in Jolly Good Singh, a character played by Jaspal Bhatti, from the Rashtrapati Bhawan. At this point the film meets the tragic end when Zooni is informed that Rehan has been killed in a terrorist attack carried out on the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
