Story of Zinda

Sanjay Dutt plays the role of Baljeet Roy, John Abraham as Rohit Chopra, Celina Jaitley as Nisha Roy, Lara Dutt as Jenny Singh and Mahesh Manjrekar as Joy Fernandes. Celina Jaitely plays Balijeet's wife. Balajeet Roy and his wife has a beautiful life in Bangkok. One day he is abducted. When he comes to his senses he finds himself in a steel cell. For 14 years he is kept imprisoned in this cell. There is a small slot in the door through which dumplings are passed to him. He has no clue why he was kidnapped. One day, after 14 long years, he finds himself lying on the street with a phone. When he wakes up on the street he receives a phone call that he has four days to find out why he was kidnapped.

He sets on a journey to find out the truth. Jenny Singh is a taxi driver who helps Balajeet in his search of the truth. Balajeet finds out that when he was young he had teased Rohit's sister so badly that she commits suicide. To avenge her death Rohit kidnaps Balajeet and keeps him imprisoned for 14 years. Then as the movie moves on Rohit Chopra kidnaps his daughter. At the last Rohit Chopra dies and Balajeet gets back her daughter.

John Abraham was nominated for the 2007 Filmfare award in the category ' Best Actor in the Negative Role'.

Music of Zinda

Some of the popular songs of the movie are Yeh Hai Meri Kahani, Har Saans, Zinda Hoon Main, Kya Main Zinda Hoon, Chal Rahi Hain Saansein and Maula.
