While discussing about Bollywood thriller movies, you have to mention the name of Naqaab, the Hindi suspense thriller, made in 2007. Casting Bobby Deol, Akshaye Khanna and Urvashi Sharma in main roles, Naqaab features a brilliant plot and excellent performance of the actors.
Naqaab is made by Abbas Burmawalla and Mastan Burmawalla who are well known for making crime thrillers. Hindi blockbusters like, Baazigar, Baadshah, Soldier, Khiladi were made by them. Several popular Hindi thrillers made by this director duo claims to be inspired by Hollywood thrillers.
The plot of Naqaab is based on triangle love affair. The story is about Sophia starred by debutant Urvashi Sharma. She got engaged to multi-millionaire Karan Oberoi played by Bobby Deol. Sophia likes Karan but she feels the lack on intensity from her side towards him. On the other hand Karan is madly in love with her. He is obsessed about her. He always tries his best to make her happy.
The story takes a twist when Sophia comes into contact with Vicky acted by Akshaye Khanna. She develops a feeling for this middle class guy. She finds that their liking and disliking, choices and preferences are same. Vicky's attractive personality attracts her. She falls in love with him. Vicky is also in love with her. They feel that they are made for each other. A thrilling triangle love story starts from here. On the day of her marriage to Karan, Sophia runs away to meet Vicky and comes to know that Karan has committed suicide. Later on it is revealed that Karan Oberoi is actually a film director and actor who wants to make an excellent thriller. He has used both Vicky and Sophia as pawns for making a successful film.
He blackmails both Sophia and Vicky for acting in his film and even a relationship develops between Karan and Sophia. However, a surprise waits for the viewers at the end.
Naqaab is one of the brightest works of the director duo. They are regarded as the master of thriller movies. The film has some lovely songs which are the blend of eastern and western style of music. Naqaab receives a very good response from the critics. Those who happened to watch the film was quite impressed with the performances of the actors. It is a debit film of famous famous Urvashi Sharma. Her performance is a major attraction of the film.
Naqaab is a complete entertainer with lots of twists and turns. You will not find a single monotonous moment in the entire film and it is worth visiting.
