The story of the conservationist, his photographer and a group of friends in the Orbit Park in India is portrayed in the movie Kaal. Kaal is a directorial debut of Soham Shah. The movie is produced by Karan Johar and Shahrukh Khan. Karan Johar and Ram Gopal Verma were the guides of Soham in his early life. Soham has shown the ease as a director in the movie.

Soham has beautifully reflected the glitzy style of Karan Johar in the movie. He has also portrayed the factual events wonderfully just like Ram Gopal Verma. The story of Kaal is very strong to hold the audience tightly in their seat. The story is taken from a novel and Soham has not left a single flaw to represent the story. Apart from the story Kaal has a very good cinematography, music and exhilarating background score. The film is technically very sound. The cinematography as said is wonderful and the shots are beautifully taken.

John Abraham plays the role of Krish who is a conservationist and works for International Wildlife Welfare.

He and his photographer Riya came to the Corbett Park in India to find out the unnatural deaths of people in the forest. The latest death was of two British nationals. It is suspected that the man eater tigers are responsible for the death of these people. Another group joined them where Vivek Oberoi and Lara Dutta came along with some of their friends to enjoy an adventure trip.

Suddenly, the death toll started on these two groups too. They were very scared and came across Kali a forest local. Kali tried to help them get out of the jungle. The character of Kali rather Kali Pratap Singh is portrayed by Ajay Devgan. Gradually, the story starts opening up and the audiences are left to their surprise that Ajay Devgan himself is a supernatural being. This was unfolded when Vivek Oberoi (Dev) found no reflection of Kali's image in the water while looking for Riya's dead body. He also found that there were no images of his shooting in the handycam.

The cinematography, the thrilling music, the editing and character portrayal were just wonderful in the movie. The film is different from the regular movies produced by the Dharma Productions. The suspense, the thrill takes you to a complete journey. Audiences are kept in dilemma till the end of the movie. The movie comes more into life with a dancing number. Shah Rukh Khan and Malaika Arora are found shaking their legs with his hit opening number.

Kaal is a perfect suspense thriller and one of the best adventure stories in Bollywood movies.
