From time to time the Hindi film industry more popularly known as Bollywood has made many thriller movies some of which were highly applauded for the quality of their work. All these thriller movies like the general concept are different genre of movies and are usually characterized by fast pacing, frequent action, and resourceful heroes. Though many well-known thriller movies have been made but only few could make their impact on viewers. One such creditable creation is Gumnaam; a famous Bollywood thriller directed by Raja Nawathe

This Raja Nawathe direction, starring Manoj Kumar, Nanda, Helen and Mehmood was released in the year 1965. The plot of the movie is a Hindi remake of Agatha Christie`s novel And Then There Were None. The title song of the movie Gumnaam hai koi.... is also adaptation from Henry Mancini`s theme tune from the Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn movie Charade.

In the main plot of Gumnaam, seven people are shown wining a free vacation in a dancing competition.

All these seven characters board a small plane to reach a destined place along with a pilot and a steward. On the way to their destination the plane has some kind of an engine trouble and had to land in a deserted place. They are all left abandoned in a distant seaside location. There they take refuge in a large house occupied by a funny butler. As the movie progresses further one by the all are murdered

The film earned was highly applauded and came to a wider attention more because of its opening dance sequence, which is an item number Jaan Pehechan Ho featured on a stage. The song of the dance was sung by Bollywood legend Mohammed Rafi and wild head-shaking dancing by Laxmi Chhaya. They both appeared only in that scene and neither appeared again in the film.

Gumnam became a big Bollywood success and earned wider attractions. It also grabbed several awards and nominated for many some of which are given as below:
