Gangster is the latest addition to the thriller movies of Bollywood. It is perhaps the most successful low budget movie which had two newcomers playing the lead roles. Both Shiny Ahuja and Kangna Ranaut came across their first hit in the industry with Gangster. Produced under the famous Bhatt banner, the movie showcases some of the best talents of Bollywood. It is one of the most commendable Bollywood Thriller Movies.

Bhatts have the legacy of making some of the darkest movies of the industry. After Kalyug, Gangster was the most refreshing chapter of the Hindi films. Written by Mahesh Bhatt and directed by much acclaimed Anurag Bose, Gangster is the riveting story of a young gangster who is trying hard to get out of the black smuggling world and start a new life with his lady love.

The best feature of the movie is that it isn't inspired from any famous Hollywood flick. Its originality is its key to success. Shiny, Kangna and Emraan are at their best. The film emerged out to be a true winner in all respects.

The mature handling of human emotions adds charm to every scene of the movie. The film is narrated in a flash back mode. The story is more or less fool proof. The small discrepancies are covered up wonderfully by the expert director.

Shiney's as Daya is a gift to the Indian cinema. He had very little to say in the movie. It was only expressions which made him a heartthrob of the nation overnight. The way he expresses his emotions through gestures and facial expressions is commendable. Shiney created an aura for himself in every scene. His presence was enough to convey what he wanted.

Emraan was also at his best. This is perhaps for the first time that the audience gets to see him in a matured and meaty role. The steamy scenes are very much in tune with the story. They looked very much a part of the movie rather than an appendage. Every scene was woven together in a perfect manner to make them a composite whole.

Kangna Ranaut had made her debut with Gangster. The maturity with which she handled the role of Daya's ladylove is commendable. She did not only look stunning throughout the entire movie, but her performance also excelled at all points.

Music of Gangster is impeccable, melodious and well placed. Songs like Tu hi meri Shab hai, Ya Ali and Bheegi Bheegi Si hai have become evergreen classics. Pritam did a commendable job. Thus gangster is an action packed thriller which is full of twists and turns that can keep you glued to your television sets for three hours.
