Dushman was a famous Bollywood movie that was given a lot of critical acclaim and appreciation for its brilliant direction, acting and story line. Dushman told the story of 2 twins, both played brilliantly by Kajol. The first twin, known as Sonia Sehgal was an outgoing and spirited girl who lived life to the fullest. The second twin, known as Naina Sehgal was the shy one who was more homely and quiet. The 2 girls stay at home with their mother who's character was played by Tanvi Azmi. Sonia Sehgal is also in love with a man played by Jas Arora. They are happily planning their married life together.
But unknown to them, a killer is lurking in background waiting to destroy their happy lives. Gokul Pandit, played by Ashutosh Rana is a psychotic killer who brutally rapes and murders his victims. And for his next victim he has chosen Naina Sahgal. But he unknowingly murders Sonia instead. When Sonia is attacked by Gokul, she was talking on the phone with her sister Naiana. Thus Naina has the traumatic experience of listening to the killer murder her sister.
As the traumatized sister in unable to accept the fact of her sister's death, she tries to find answers to her questions about sister's killer. She again unknowingly attracts the attention of the killer towards herself. She even manages to spoil his plans for trapping his next victim thereby turning his wrath on her. Naina realizes that to fight against a mad killer, she first has to overcome her fear of him. For this purpose she turns towards Suraj Singh Rathod for help. Suraj Singh is a retired and blind army major who's character is played beautifully by Sanjay Dutt.
Suraj Singh decides to help the girl overcome her fear of her enemy and trains her to fight for herself. His lessons in self defense give Naiana the boost and confidence that she desperately needed. Naina also gradually falls in love with her heroic tutor. But her enthusiasm at having dealt with her fears makes her less defensive. Suraj Singh scolds her for letting her guard down and in the ensuing fight between the two, Naiana walks out.
Naina then decides to fight her battle on her own and decides to track down her sister's killer without the help of the police or Suraj Singh. In the face to face battle between Gokul Pandit and Naina, all bounds are stretched as each one tries to get ultimate control over the other. Naina is saved from a similar tragedy death like her sister's through the heroic efforts of Suraj Singh who comes to help her at the last minute. The villain is finally destroyed and Naina avenges the death of her sister.
