It was directed by Rahul Rawail, the talented film director of Bollywood. Leading personalities of Bollywood film industry, like, Madhuri Dixit and Shahrukh Khan are in the leading roles of this film. Some other talents like Tinnu Anand, Deepak Tijori, Himani Shivpuri, Kiran Kumar and Kalpana Iyer played the supporting roles. The songs of Anjaam , directrd by Anand-Milind were immensely popular.

The story of Anjaam deals with the life of a rich young man named Vijay Agnihotri, played by Shahrukh Khan. The wealth of his mother brought to him everything. One day, he meets Shivani Chopra, starred by Madhuri Dixit. Vijay falls in love with Shivani, but she does not response. But Vijay is determined to marry her. He informs his mother everything and both of them go to Madhuri's house with the proposal of marriage. But surprise and despair were waiting for them. Reaching there, they came to know that the girl is getting married on that day. Disappointed Vijay returns with his mother.



But life and desire of Vijay do not stop here. Vijay meets Shivani once more when she is the mother of a child and pregnant again. He felt deep passion for her once again and decided to win her this time. So he starts following her. He kills her husband and tries to convince her about his deep passion. But she is not ready to accept him. Her hatred towards him makes him more determined. Being refused, Vijay conspires against her. He blames her for the death of her husband and sends her jail. With the assistance of his friend Arjun Singh, he starts torturing her in prison.

Meanwhile both Shivani's daughter and elder sister die in a road accident. The car was driven by Vijay. The torture in the prison kills her unborn child too. These multiple shocks make her furious and vindictive. Shivani kills the warden and escapes from the jail. She takes revenge on all these people who killed her children. Then she came to Vijay's house. But the greatest surprise was waiting for her. The accident which killed her sister and child disabled Vijay. Shivani cures him because she wanted to let Vijay, that she is punishing him for his sins. The movie ends with the death of Vijay by Shivani. In the combat she is also killed.

Both Madhuri Dixit and Shahrukh Khan were at their best in Anjaam- the Hindi thriller. Shahrukh Khan acted in several Bollywood Thriller Movies before also. He won Filmfare award for his terrific performance in this film.
