36 China Town is one of the blockbuster Bollywood movies. It is one of the popular Bollywood thriller movies. The movie was released on May 30 in 2006 and was directed by Abbas-Mustan. 36 China Town is a Bollywood adaptation of the English movie, `Once Upon A Crime (1992)`.

36 China Town is a murder mystery which features the investigation of police officers who are trying to find how Sonia Chang a wealthy casino owner is killed and by whom.

The movie has the Bollywood heartthrobs Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. Actor and model Upen Patel made his debut in this movie. The other popular actors in the movie are Payal Rohatgi, Akshaye Khanna, Johnny Lever, Paresh Rawal and Tanaz Lal. Isha Koppikar has a special appearance in the movie while Priyanka Chopra and Tanushree Dutta have guest appearances.

In 36 China Town, Sonia Chang played by Isha Koppikar is a casino owner. She lives in her mansion 36 China Town with her only son. She loves her son very much and when he goes missing she offers a reward of 250,000 rupees.



Later, Raj played by Shahid Kapoor and Priya aka Kareena Kapoor cross paths and get the missing child by chance. Both of them decide to split the reward money. They take a bus to Goa to take the child to the mother. When they reach 36 China Town at midnight they call Sonia Chang.

When they calls remain unanswered, they try to investigate inside the house and search Sonia. Inside while searching they discover Chang`s dead body. They get shocked and frightened and flee from the house so that they are not accused of the murder. They realize suddenly that the child is still in the mansion and the killer may harm the child. Therefore Raj goes back to get the child. Inside he suddenly sees two frightening eyes and two legs behind the sofa set`s partition.

Raj takes the child and flees from the mansion as fast he could. At the same time Priya realizes that her suitcase is in the mansion. Raj returns to the mansion to get the suitcase. But at the same time, the police arrive and arrest him. In fact, the police came as they received Raj`s phone call when he called in a different voice. Priya also becomes a suspect for the murder. The servants of the mansion are given the child.

In the movie, 36 China Town the killer covers the dead body and uses Priya`s suitcase to put in the dead body. The suitcase is left on the street which is picked up by a gambler K.K. played by Johnny Lever. He thinks there is money in the suitcase but later finds the bizarre contents. He tries to throw off the suitcase but gets caught and become a murder suspect.

The police inspector Karan played by Akshaye Khanna investigates the murder. He finds evidence on the different suspects but is clueless about the real murderer. In the end of the movie 36 China Town, it is revealed that the actual killers were the servants. Sonia had already found out about the evil intentions of the servants who had planned to take her inheritance and child. She changes the will which angers the servants and they murder Sonia in a fit of rage and arranged everything nicely so that they are never suspected.
