Story of the movie

The Woh Saat Din movie begins with Dr. Anand (Naseerudin Shah) getting married to Maya (Padmini Kolhapure). When Maya tries to commit suicide and fails, she is asked to explain her actions by her husband. Maya reveals about her failed love affair with a struggling music director, Prem Pratap (Anil Kapoor). Dr. Anand is moved by the love story of Maya and promises to help her to get her love back. Dr. Anand himself is grappling with certain problems. His mother is very ill and he has a young daughter, from a previous marriage, to look after.

It was on the insistence of his mother that Dr. Anand agreed to go for a second marriage and marry Maya. On realizing that his wife loves another man, he decides to rejoin the lovers and begins to search for Prem Pratap. The story takes an interesting turn when he meets Prem Pratap and tries to get him marry Maya.

There are various social issues that the movie of Woh Saat Din discusses with the audience. The system of arranged marriage that is prevalent in the country of India is wonderfully portrayed on screen. The way by which the Indian women preserve the sanctity of marriage is also one of the highlights in the movie.
