Saaransh raised few significant social questions which need to be answered by the government or authority. It also portrays the political corruption that affects both the social and political lives of Indians. The common men appears to be helpless and insecure before the indifferent and often autocratic rule of the police and politicians. The saviors have become the devils and the director is trying to induce an awareness among the common people about the flaws of such corrupted society. The people should raise their voices and must go on with their lives. Someone should protest and in this film, the elderly couple who received a call from United States informing them that their young son was murdered took initiative to reform the society. They at least tried to do some good to the society without thinking about their personal security.
Saaransh is an inspiring movie and it induces the zeal in the viewers to fight against wrong.
It is said that Mahesh Bhatt is in love with the themes like death and love and this love began with the making of Saaransh. The Pradhan couples are trying to accept the death of their only son. Things get even more complicated with the introduction of the episode of Sujatha played by Soni Razdan, the paying guest in Pradhan's home. But, Sujatha turned out to be the only life force for the old couples at the end of the movie. It is all about accepting the end of one episode in a human's life and the beginning of the other. Saaransh is actually a fine manifestation of the cycle of life, life, love, death, new life.
Saaransh should be watched repeatedly to comprehend the layers of meanings it actually presents. Though Saaransh is usually regarded as a social movie, it cannot be actually categorized under any particular genre. Saaransh is still regarded as the perfect presentation of the favorite theme of Mahesh Bhatt, life through love and death even after a quarter of a century.
