Mixed Reviews
Though the story of the movie had tremendous potential, Paheli failed to impress the audiences. The movie boasts of some charming visuals of the Indian state of Rajasthan where the story of the movie is based. The music of the film was well appreciated by both the audience and the critics. The film got nominated as the official entry of India for the Oscar Awards amidst lots of controversies.
Social issues
The movie, Paheli, discusses social issues in a most subtle manner. It talks about the empowerment of women and her rights. It also speaks about a woman's rights to select her spouse.
