Cast of Nikaah

Raj Babbar was cast as Afaque Haider Siddiqui alias Badruddin Kamaluddin Haider. Deepak Parasar played the role of Wasim Ahmed. Salma Agha portrayed the role of Niloufer Bano alias Habiba Shabnam Rehmani. G. Asrani was cast as Saif and Iftekhar as Jumman Chacha. Chandrashekhar played the role of Mr. Kaleem Ahmed. Urmilla Bhatt was cast as Mrs. Ahmed and Ashalata as Mrs. Siddiqui.



Production of Nikaah

Nikaah was released in 24th September 1982. Achala Nagar and Ram Kumar had written the prologue and play respectively. B.R. Chopra was the director of the film.

About the film Nikaah

Nilofar and Haider studied in the same college. Haider wries poetry and falls in love with Nilofar. However Nilofar is engaged to a businessman named Wasim. Nilofar gets married to Wasim. Wasim who is a workaholic pays little attention to Nilofar and gives her divorce. Nilofar gets a job in a newspaper press, which is run by Haider. Haider still loves her. Both of them get married. Haider comes to know that Nilofar still has a soft cornet for her first love. He even comes to know that Wasim has also not forgotten her. Several events of heartbreaks and sacrifices follows one after another.

Music of the film Nikaah

The film is still being remembered for its unforgettable music. The music of the film was composed by Ravi. The songs sung by Salma Agha received huge acclamation from the audience. For her song 'Dil ke arman....', Salma Agha won the prestigious Filmfare best female playback award in the year 1982. Salma Agha in fact was nominated in the best female playback singer category for the songs, like 'Pyar bhi hai jawan...' and 'Dil ki arzo....'. Filmfare best dialog award in the year 1982 was won by Dr. Acha Nagar for the superb dialogs of the film.
