The director of Meri Awaj Suno was S.V. Rajendra Singh. The producer of Meri Awaj Suno was G.A. Sheshagiri Rao. The film had many songs that became very popular similar to many Bollywood films. The melodious tunes of the film were composed by the dynamic duo Laxmikant and Pyarelal. These two music directors have composed music for many of the Bollywood films that have gone on to become huge success. The film is about how a girl is abducted by dacoits who are initially mistaken to be of respectable family. The film shows how not doing a proper background check before marriage, can land many in grave trouble.

The star cast of Meri Awaj Suno are Hema Malini, Parveen Babi, Urmila Bhatt, Jeetendra, Shakti Kapoor, Kader Khan, Tamanna, Ranjeet and Vijay Arora. The plot revolves around Jeetendra who plays the role of Sushil Kumar who lives in Bhagalpur in Riksapur. He lives with his family and has a middle class lifestyle. Their peaceful and happy life soon upturns in the course of events that follows. Sunita is his wife who is expecting their child.

The role of Sunita is played by Hema Malini. Urmila Bhatt is Kamini Devi and the mother of Sushil and Shobha. Shobha is Sushil's unmarried sister who also lives with them.

The story progresses with Shobha falling in love with a very wealthy man. Both the families are introduced and the marriage is fixed. Seeing the social position of the groom to be respectable, the Kumar family readily agrees to the match and Shobha is married off. After few days, the film Meri Awaj Suno shows that Shobha has miraculously disappeared. On further investigation, it is revealed that she had been captured by a group of dacoits and her husband was deeply involved in it. Sushil is determined to look for his sister and gets himself the post of sub inspector.

In Meri Awaj Suno, the character of Sushil is shown to work hard for which is recognized by the authorities. He is then assigned the job of arresting the gangsters who abduct women. In order to catch them, he has to take the guise of Kanwar Lal who is a dangerous dacoit in jail. It is only by this method that he could reach the dacoits and find Shobha. What Sushil does not realize is that he is putting his life in great danger along with others in the family.
