The film was jointly produced by Arindam Mitra and Arjun Bagga. Anurag Kashyap was the director and writer of the movie. The movie was also partly conceptualized by Hussain Zeidi. The music was given by the band, Indian Ocean. Nataraj Subramanium's brilliant cinematography together with editor Aarti Bajaj's work produced a impressive motion picture. Each frame captured a lot of emotions - sadness, plotting and pathos.

Plot of Black Friday

The movie is based on the serial blasts in Mumbai on March 9th 1993. The story opens with a small time criminal informing the police about the blasts that will take place. The police do not pay attention but when three days later the blasts actually happen everybody is dumbstruck. There are many dead and numerous fighting for lives. Probing reveals RDX as the explosive material used to trigger the blasts.

The cops are trying to find out the motive behind the blasts. The motive was to take revenge on the suffering of Muslim minorities during the Hindu Muslim riot, which took place from 1992 till early 1993. The underworld in Dubai discusses the suffering of Muslim people and decide to take revenge by these blasts. Tiger Memon is the a resident of Mumbai who is involved in criminal practices.

During the communal riots his office was burnt down. He was one of the chief plotters behind the bombing. The arrest of Badshah Khan one of the alliances in the blast and his repentance for his actions is effectively portrayed. The story also shows the victims of the blast and their suffering.
