Rajan also falls for Nimmi; Kewal on learning this does not want to come between the two. Nimmi on the other hand is in love with Kewal. The twist in the story comes with a fire that breaks out in the theater.

This "Aag" or fire alters the life of Kewal permanently. He is badly burnt in the fire and his face is disfigured. Nimmi is devastated and immediately states that she loves Rajan. Raj Kapoor eventually gets married to Nigar Sultana. On the wedding night, the bride sees the disfigured face of her husband and screams. It remains to be seen whether Kewal finds his Nimmi. The story tells about the importance of inner beauty that needs to be recognized. Will Kewal's bride see the real man behind the disfigured face? That remains to be seen.

Aag was scripted by Inder Raj Anand. The film was released in 1948 and was directed and produced by Raj Kapoor.
