A T-Series production, Tum Bin is one of the Bollywood romantic movies of all time. Released in 2001, Tum Bin saw four fresh actors render excellent performances. The four fresh faces showed much promise the way in which they delivered the complex emotional scenes. Tum Bin with its catch line `Love Will Find a Way` is regarded as one of the romantic Bollywood movies in the cinema circuit.

This romantic Bollywood movie had a promising star cast. Casting four new faces, Tum Bin was a unique directorial venture of Anubhav Sinha. The cast of Tum Bin featured Sandali Sinha, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Himanshu Malik, and Rakesh Bapat. This romantic saga of four young hearts caught in a web of complexities became a major hit of the year 2001. Pia played by Sandali Sinha was the female protagonist of the movie.



Tum Bin begins with the hit number Daaroo Vich Pyar, with Shekhar as Priyanshu Chatterjee and Amar as Rakesh Bapat meeting for the first time in a pub. This was followed by the death of Amar, who was run over accidentally by Shekhar`s car. It was at this juncture, that Pia calls up Amar. The call is received by Shekhar. The aggrieved Shekhar decides to take up all responsibility of Amar`s family. He reaches Canada. He finds that Shah Industries was almost tottering.

Unable to come to terms with his son`s death, Girdhari, Amar`s father lost his speaking abilities. Shekhar blamed himself for all this. Shekhar Malhotra, Priyanshu Chatterjee takes it upon himself to re-establish the Shah Industries. He mingles well with the family and soon is treated as one of the family members. Shekhar starts developing a soft corner for Pia, who reciprocates much later. Shekhar knew that it would be hard for Pia to accept him, after she knew that he was unknowingly responsible for Amar`s death. His dread is caught in a very sweet sentence which he utters to his friend. He speaks of logic of being stupid which understands no emotions. However, Pia falls for Shekhar. Their moods and feelings are best captured in the soulful verse of Koi Fariyaad, sung by Jagjit Singh. The lyrics and the way the song is sung is bound to touch the heart of every romantic lover.

The entry of Abhigyan (played by Himanshu Malick) a wealthy Canadian industrialist brings another twist in the tale. He meets Pia and realizes that he has met his dream woman. Abhi proposes to Pia and wishes to restore Shah Industries to its former glory. But Pia has feelings for Shekhar, which Abhi Gyan is aware of. Shekhar realizes that his responsibility had come to an end and he decides to leave for India. He finally reveals everything about the past to Amar`s father. The conflict between logic and emotion continues till the end.

The music of Tum Bin was one of the best of 2001. The great scores of Nikhil Vinay resulted in many of the songs being one of the popular chartbusters. Chhoti Chhoti Raatein became an instant hit. Koi Fariyaad was touching and exuded much warmth and emotions. Dekhte Hi Dekhte, Zoom Boombura, Daaroo Vich Pyar, the title track Tum Bin, Suru Ru and Meri Duniya Mein were other major romantic numbers of the movie.
