A person falls in love with two sisters and finds himself in big trouble when he is asked to love one and marry the other. Jitendra, one of the most popular film stars of that time played the male lead role in Tohfa and Jaya Pradha and Sri Devi portrayed the roles of two sisters. Sri Devi who was almost a newcomer at that point of time, impressed movie watchers with her mind-blowing performance throughout the movie.

Both Jitendra and Jaya Pradha were also appraised for their superb performance. Besides, Shakti kapoor, who played the villain in Tohfa won people's heart with his typical style of throwing dialogue. As the films stars Jaya Pradha and Sri Devi, who apart from their acting are also very well known as dancers, dancing is one of its major highlights.
