One of the unusual Bollywood romantic movies, Sirf Tum is a romantic tale of love in which the lovers never get to see each other till the end of the movie. Released in 2003, you must see Sir Tum to believe that love can happen in the most unusual and abstract way. A sweet romantic story of two pen pals, Sirf Tum was one of the romantic Bollywood movies of the year 2003. Essentially a family movie, Sirf Tum had some good popular numbers and a unique storyline.
The male lead of the movie was played by Sanjay Kapoor, known as Deepak. An orphan, Deepak is a warm and friendly person. He is an extremely friendly person and shares kind words with anyone who is nice to him. He also sends birthday cards to anyone he comes across. He works as an executive in Kerala.
The cast of Sir Tum features Priya Gill as Aarti, the female lead of the film. Her sweet and coy looks fits in the role perfectly. She belongs to a middle class family in Nainital. She frequently visits Delhi in search of work. Aarti lives with her caring sister and brother-in-law whose concern for her is concealed behind a rough façade.
One day she loses her handbag. Deepak, who is in Delhi at that time comes across it. Being a genuine person, Deepak gives it back to the owner. The connecting link was set between Deepak and Aarti. They started exchanging letters and gradually they fall in love. They decide that they would meet each other one day. They would recognize each other by means of a sweater.
The irony of the movie is that both the lovers often come across each other in Delhi, remaining oblivious to their identities. The movie carried the question, can you fall in love with a person you have never met, which seemed to intrigue movie buffs.
The hero's idea of a sari-clad Indian woman as his partner is another important feature of Sirf Tum. The hero, belonging to the executive class, is trying to earn his livelihood, does not mind pulling a rickshaw when out of his high profile job. He represents the middle-class, and the ordinary man at the same time.
The dialogues of Sirf Tum are at times excessively lengthy. The star attraction who adds zing to this romantic Bollywood movie is Sushmita Sen. Former Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen captures hearts of millions with her item number. She makes the crowd go drooling with her suave steps in Dilbar Dilbar. She belongs to a rich family and falls for Deepak, Sanjay Kapoor. You will also get to catch a glimpse of Salman Khan in the movie. You will get to see the best of Kerala in this romantic feature film.
