Although, originally a Tamil movie, yet it has been considered among the greatest Romantic Movies in the history of Bollywood industry. Roja is the creative production of Mani Rtanam who directed the movie. After its huge response in Southern India, I get the universal acclaim and was dubbed in other Indian languages including Hindi. Starring Arvind Swamy and Madhoo as the major actors, the movie is a wonderful example of how love conquers every kind of vice and terrorism.

Roja, a 1992 movie was dubbed in Hindi, Malayalam, Marathi, and Telugu. The film was recently re-released for the global audiences which will be used in the context of fear of terrorist attacks the world over. The creative and careful direction of Mani Ratnam has added the touch of elegance to the movie. This is essentially a love story in the backdrop of a war. The real lovers of movie have been enchanted to find such a beautiful story and creative way of handling the plot.

Being a potential director, Mani Ratnam has penned down the story of Roja all by himself and it has attracted the audience of almost all the role of Roja is played by Madhoo.

The story is quite touching as it shows one Man`s love for his motherland and the devotion of a wife towards her husband. Arvind Swamy, who plays the role of Rishi, a top cryptologist the story moved on smoothly as Roja gets married to Rishi, and they move to live in the city. They fell deeply in love and settled down.

The crisis in the movie arose after Rishi is kidnapped by militant Kashmiri separatists when he was stationed at an army communications center in Kashmir. Roja tells us vividly, how a lonely girl struggles to save her husband`s life, but in vain. No other directors have displayed such a brave attempt to deal with such a sensitive issue of Kashmir. The movie is considered among the best Bollywood Romantic Movies from Indian film industry from the 90s.

Roja can surely be considered in the list of famous musical movies, since the movie has a good number of melodious songs. The music direction of this movie is done by the debutant A.R. Rehman. The songs of Roja are voted as one of the top ten soundtracks of the world. The excellence which the film has achieved is being rewarded.
