After the major success of Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Bhagnani made a stupendous comeback with yet another romantic Bollywood movie, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein. Madhav Shashtri, was a college superstar is confused whether to love or hate. He meets Reena and falls in love with her instantly. Love at first sight, Madhav could go to any extent to woo her. Madhav Shastri pretends to be Reena`s suitor Rajiv and aims to win her heart. In a curious play of circumstances, Rajiv Shyamrao arrives from America. Incidentally, both Rajiv and Madhav knew each other in college and were at logger heads. Reena refuses to marry Madhav or Maddy and is ready to go ahead with the arranged marriage. Madhav is shattered, which is excellently portrayed in the song sach keh raha hain deewana yeh dil. Both their lives meet in pleasant and unpleasant junctures. Both of them go through a phase of emotional turmoil only to see a happy ending. The cast of RHTDM show some excellent performances.

The excellent soundtracks of Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein became popular chartbusters instantly. Kay Kay, Shaan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, and Sonu Nigam are the popular playback singers who sang for the movie Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein.
