The movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak is still considered a wonderful specimen of the romantic movies made in Bollywood. This bollywood movie of 1988 has Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla as the main stars. The movies made during the 1980's were of mixed genres and thus it was quite difficult to assign a particular genre to a movie. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak is one of the cherished romantic movies which won over the hearts of millions of viewers in the country. Directed by Mansoor Khan and written by Nasir Hussain, this sensational movie communicates the message of the power of true love and the essence of bonding of two souls.
Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak saw an excellent debut of the actor Aamir Khan, the nephew of Nasir Hussain. There are several accolades attached to this movie. Firstly, the film became got a huge response in the box office and made the debutant actor Aamir Khan rise to fame. Moreover, the movie also claimed to be the first biggest hit of Juhi Chawla. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak is fortunate enough for its music direction was given by the music-director duo Anand-Milind and singer Udit Narayan.
The movie speaks of the eternal bondage between two lovers Raj (played by Aamir Khan) and Rashmi (Juhi Chawla). The lovers could not help falling in love with each other, being fully unaware of the rivalries existing between their parents. Since Raj's Father Dhanraj Singh was the sole enemy of Rashmi's parents, the inevitable rift broke up. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak tells an intense tale on how the lovers struggle to escape the hostilities faced from their adversaries. The story ends on a sad note when the hired henchman of Rashmi's parents killed Rashmi. Their mistake made a great difference and it was an indomitable pain that Aamir Khan suffered.
In the end, we found the distressed hero committing suicide with a dagger gifted by Rashmi. Unlike many other Bollywood Romantic Movies where we get to see a happy ending, this movie narrates a painful story of sufferance. The audience was overwhelmed to see such an intense acting by both the actors and the actress. The roles portrayed by Aamir Khan's younger brother Faisal Khan and other actors like Goga Kapoor, Dalip Tahil, Raj Zutshi, etc in the movie Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak were also worth commenting.
Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak is remembered by the audience for its melodious songs like Akele Hain To Kya Gum Hai, Ae Mere Humsafar, Gazab Ka Yeh Din, Kahe Sataye and Papa Kehte Hain. The music directors also won the Filmfare Award for their superb composition. This movie is listed among the top 25 must watch movies of the Bollywood industry.
