Maine Pyar Kiya is noted to have set another landmark in the history of Bollywood industry. This Sooraj R. Barjatya directed film of 1989 has been able to win hearts of millions of people. Often categorized under the category of Romantic movies, there are still maple ingredients in the film which will make you offer a complete package of entertainment. The movie Maine Pyaar Kiya was released when other Bollywood industry has started to make better after certain grey patches.
Salman Khan and Bhagyashree play a vital role in this movie. Apparently, Maine Pyaar Kiya seemed to have a simple storyline of two friends Karan and Kishan played by Alok Nath and Rajeev Verma respectively, but as the movie travels deeper, we are acquainted with their children. Salman Kahan plays the role of Prem, who is again Kishan's son. As Karan prepares to work abroad, he decided to keep his daughter Suman (played by Bhagyashree) in Kishan's house.
Soon the two young birds got the taste of juvenile freedom and started to count on each other. Like most other Bollywood Romantic Movies, there is a moment in the movie when everything went wrong for the lovers.
The viewers would certainly feel for Prem and Suman when they are separated from each other. He took up the challenge to make Suman his own and ultimately succeeded in winning her. The movie Maine Pyaar Kiya finally has a sweet ending.
We owe this beautiful story of Maine Pyaar Kiya to the writer SM Ahale. The touching dialogues given by Sooraj R. Barjatya have got the deserved admiration. Those who are not much aware about the movie, they must know that Salman Kahn can be seen giving his level best for that role. Apart from being one of the most successful Bollywood movies of the 1980s, it established the fame of Salman Khan. The other actors like Reema Lagoo, Ajit Vachani, Pervin Dastur and Mohnish Behl put a good effort to do full justice to their roles.
This long duration movie, which was the biggest hit of 1989, boasts of having some wonderful songs. Some of the beautiful songs like Aate Jaate, Aaya Mausam Dosti Ka, Dil Deewana, Aaja Shaam Hone Aayi, etc are sung by Lata Mangeshkar and S.P Balasubramaniam. While some songs are inspired from the western songs, some are of original composition. Maine Pyaar Kiya was credited with four Filmfare Awards for best film, best actor, best debut award and many.
