Kyaa Dil Ne Kahaa is a romantic comedy which was released on 28th June 2002. The movie had an interesting script but, but could not create a place for itself in Bollywood. Kyaa Dil Ne Kahaa is written and directed by Sanjay Chel and produced by G. A. Sheshagiri Rao.
Though the movie could not make it great in box-office, yet the music of Kyaa Dil Ne Kahaa was a huge hit. Himesh Reshmiya did good job and songs like 'Nikamma' and 'Taaza Taaza' were played for long time in the discs all over India.
The film focuses on the relationship of Tushar Kapoor and Esha Deol and their outlook to love. Tushar or Rahul plays a happy-go-lucky fellow and Esha a sweet, modern college girl. The cast also includes Rajesh Khanna as Tushar's dad and Raj Babbar as Esha's father.
Rahul is a fun-loving youngster brought up in a rich family in New Zealand. He studies in the same college where Esha studies. Rahul makes advances towards Esha, the most happening girl in college. Esha is not attracted towards Rahul initially.
This does not make him feel depressed and he starts helping her and playing pranks on her with his friends. Gradually they became friends and finally fall for each other.
The movie also presents a contrast in terms of family. The audience can realize that Rahul's bitter outlook to marriage is because of his parent's sour marriage. Esha very much believes in the institution of marriage as she comes from a joint family with high values.
Esha is very much attracted to Rahul's honesty and his carefree attitude. Rahul, on the other hand, is attracted to Esha's simplicity and goodness. She returns to India and tells her parents of her affair. Her parents gladly accept it and come to have a talk with Rahul's family to finalize their marriage. Both the families are happy with their children and approve their marriage.
But problem starts when Rahul presents his outlook towards marriage and love. He thinks it is not necessary to marry the person even if you love her. This shocks Esha. It is said that the film is very much influenced by the Telugu film Swayamvaram. Both Esha and Rahul acted well. The dance sequences between them are also worth-seeing. Raj Babbar and Rajesh Khanna were also impressive.
