Kabhi Kabhie is a well-acclaimed 1976 Hindi movie which saw a remarkable success in the box office. This is a work of art which came out from the banner of Yash Raj Films Pvt. Ltd. Directed by Yash Chopra the movie lovers had the privilege of watching some sensational acting of the heavy-weight stars like Waheeda Rehman, Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Raakhee Gulzar and also Rishi Kapoor. Kabhi Kabhie was a sheer work of art, where the director has not left any stone unturned to attain perfection.
Much of reputation about Kabhi Kabhi is due to the quality acting of the cast and diligent effort of the director. Since the audience was earlier gifted with a major blockbuster Deewar with Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor playing the lead roles, they expected something good like the former one. Kabhi Kabhie, being a great commercial success, did not lose the artistic stunts and subtleties. This is among the few Bollywood Romantic Movies which extends its stories over to next generation.
Kabhi Kabhie is a romantic movie with difference. The beginning of the movie is all about the love story between Amit (young poet) and a young and beautiful girl named Pooja. Their will to marry each other was left unsatisfied as destiny proved to be the hurdle. The story spanned over to the next generation when Pooja & Vijay's son Vicky and Shobha and R.P's daughter Pinky fall in love each other. The actors did full justice to the roles they were assigned to play.
The story of the movie Kabhi Kabhie is written by Pamela Chopra and it tells the whole story within the duration of 177 min. Yash Chopra shot the whole movie in Kashmir where all the cast stayed together. The movie thus has numerous exotic locales where most of the songs are shot. Like the major casts, the role of Rishi Kapoor as Vicky, Neetu Singh as Pinky and Simi Garewal as Shobha Kapoor is commendable. The movie Kabhi Kabhi has become a real specimen of a love story which ahs made the lovers feel the pangs of sorrow and the moments of elation which the characters went through. The songs of this movie are still widely popular and they have a soothing effect on us. Music director Khayyam gets the credit for creating such soulful music which lingers on in our heart. Before the release of the movie, the producer Gulshan Rai was convinced about its low response, but he was proven wrong.
