One of famous Bollywood romantic movies of last year, 2007, Jab We Met mixes romance and comedy in its own unique style. Another feather in the wing for music director Pritam, Jab We Met was another musical blockbuster.

A romantic Bollywood movie, Jab We Met is also replete with comedy and drama. Directed and written by Imtiaz Ali, and produced by Dhillin Mehta, Jab We Met features Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor as the romantic lead. Starring together in their fourth film, Jab We Met saw excellent performances of this happening and young pair. One of the most popular romantic Bollywood movies of 2007, Jab We Met saw the maturing of actor Shahid Kapoor, the son of Pankaj Kapoor and Neelima Azim. Kareena also bagged the Film fare award for best actress.

Although Shahid, lost out in the lead for best actor, his performance was truly commendable. Young women went swooning over the character of Aditya Kashyap played by Shahid Kapoor.

Excellent performances were rendered by Dara Singh and Saumya Tandon, prominent actors from the north Indian film industry. The story revolves around a fiery and courageous Punjabi girl named Geet who meets a low-spirited Mumbai businessman on a train to Delhi. She tries to lighten his mood with her chirpy conversations, but of no avail. She follows him as he alights at a station stop. Both are left stranded. She teaches him the way to be happy. He learns to flush down his sorrows and be cheerful and happy.

This courageous girl is ready to take up every challenge that comes her way. She has brilliant and funny ideas up her sleeves. She makes Aditya accompany her back home. Then she hatches a plan to elope with her boyfriend. He sees the beauty of life at Geet's hometown Bhatinda. 'Yeh Ishq Hai', a beautiful rendition by Sreya Ghoshal became a major hit. The song 'Nagara Nagara' shows Aditya Kashyap coming back to life.

After she leaves her home for her boyfriend Anshuman, played by Tarun Arora, life is never same for her again. Aditya understands that he was about to part with Geet, for whom he had developed a soft corner. His feelings are best depicted in the song 'Tum Se Hi'.

Destiny has something else for her. Anshuman's rejection leaves her crestfallen. Now it was Aditya's time to make her happy just the way she had done it. A flurry of expletives which Geet hurl at her boyfriend makes for a hilarious scene. The ending sees Geet and Aditya come together and enjoy life and the song Mauja Mauja is a fitting ending to this romantic tale.
